How to pick a gift for a home gym owner
A home gym is a small number of expensive items plus a layer of cheap hardware that makes them pleasant to use. The owner has bought the expensive items and has opinions about each. They have usually not bought the next item on the buying order, and they have almost never bought the cheap hardware, because each piece is individually too trivial to bother with. That is the whole strategy: the big gift is the next thing on the list, and the small gift is the thing they have been tolerating without.
Two measurements decide the big gifts. Ceiling height, to the lowest duct or beam, decides whether a rack fits; the ceiling height calculator answers it from one number. Clear floor decides whether a rower fits; the gym space planner checks that. Neither takes more than a minute with a tape measure, and both are the difference between a gift that gets used and a very expensive shelf.
